Preparing for a good New Year

I find this is a time for reflection, looking within and evaluating choices, decisions and plans.

In nature winter time is a time of hibernation and preparing for spring growth and blooming.
Plants and animals alike use this time to survive off of stored energy or food. They have eliminated what is unnecessary and cut off things that drain energy. So should we.

I am looking at fb groups, meet ups, subscriptions and fb folk I’ve added or joined over the year and evaluating them. Did it add energy, positive reinforcements, growth promoting ideas and joy? If so=keep. If not=DELETE. It’s really time out for entertaining things, people, events, thoughts, projects that don’t seek to encourage or build up your mind, body or spirit.
Do bears take snakes or wolves into their hibernation den? Do caterpillars surround themselves with larve eating insects during their cocoon cycle? NO. Then why would I entertain things that deplete, drain or are harmful to me? Not wise.

Do inventory of what and whom you entertain. Pray and seek wisdom concerning your life, goals and purpose and then make changes that set you up for a productive, positive and joyous New Year

Just let it go

When you find you’ve taken on too much, added things you really aren’t interested in, obligated yourself where you really shouldn’t have; make a change. Let things go.  We are so guilty of feeling like we “have to” do/be/go so many things; we don’t. Let stuff go, re-capture your balance. Live a life you enjoy.

Don’t do things for the sake of being busy. Don’t find yourself so busy doing stuff not related to your goals, purpose and growth; that you don’t have time to pursue passion, dreams, and goals that fulfill your purpose.  Let go of those unnecessary things that bog down your life, things that weigh heavy on your spirit and suck time out of your day.  Release those things that clog up your mind and sap your joy.  Let it go…

Staying free

Do not let how others treat you effect who you are towards them. Remain your authentic self.

What do I mean?  If you are a greeter and you see them out and about – – still say “Hi” even if they don’t say anything back.   If you feel led to check on them do it, even it you know they won’t respond back.

In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter how they treat you – you just need to remain free in your heart.  Letting how they treat you dictate who you are regarding them, gives them a negative power over you. For example – you feel led to pray for someone, but won’t because of how they have treated you.  They don’t loose; you do.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying chase after people. Use wisdom.  Take your lead from how they treat you and spend time with them accordingly.   If someone can’t ever seem to make time to hang out its okay; just stop asking them to do things.

Never let how someone treats you cause you to harden your heart towards them; stay free.
